亚太区域的城郊地区正处于发展的十字路口。虽然农村面临着人口减少和环境恶化的严峻挑战，但这些地区为应对气候变化、粮食和水安全以及其他生活方式变化的问题提供了宝贵机会。此次圆桌会议将邀请来自中国大陆、台湾、香港和泰国四个地区的学者和实践者，分享他们在解决当地农村可持续发展关键问题和挑战方面的经验。该活动还将正式启动APAC区域影响倡议(AIRI)项目，并介绍农村可持续性区域合作关系。同时，将在启动仪式上宣布为期一年的 “AIRI城乡可持续发展奖学金2022-23” 孵化项目，以呼吁那些渴望成为引领农村可持续发展的热心变革者的兴趣。

Peri-urban areas in the Asia-Pacific Region are at crossroad. While the rural communities are facing severe challenges of depopulation and environmental deterioration, these areas offer invaluable opportunity to addressing climate change, food and water security as well as other lifestyle change issues. This Roundtable will call upon academics and practitioners from four regions to share their experiences in addressing key issues and challenges of rural sustainability in the region. The event will also officially launch the APAC Initiative for Regional Impact (AIRI) programme and introduce the regional partnership for rural sustainability. The one-year incubation programme, AIRI Urban-Rural Sustainability Fellowship 2022-23, will be announced at the launch and will call for interest from those keen individuals aspire to be the change fellows steering rural sustainability.
